A benefit for A is For and their work advancing reproductive rights and ending the stigma against abortion care.
September 30th @ Feinstein's/54 Below!
A star-studded night of music and mayhem, Broadway Acts For Women is in its fourth year of raising critical funds and awareness on behalf of struggling health care providers and advocates all over the country.
This year, the threat is greater than it was 45 years ago, when Roe v Wade was decided. That’s why we’ve chosen to support three organizations whose work is critical to protecting reproductive freedom in some of the most underserved parts of our country: National Advocates for Pregnant Women, Access Reproductive Care, and National Network of Abortion Funds.
Each year, and in the only event of its kind, Broadway performers who support access to reproductive health care show up to sing something they’ve never rehearsed, while the audience bids for a fantastic prize AND the chance to choose the song.
This event brings out Broadway’s best every single year. Past performers include Patti LuPone, Betty Buckley, Tituss Burgess, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Rebecca Luker, Howard McGillin, Michael Cerveris, Montego Glover, Lena Hall, Brian d’Arcy James, Tonya Pinkins, Keith Carradine, and many more.
Host Cecily Strong of Saturday Night Live returns this year, joined by A is For’s Martha Plimpton, and our new auctioneer, downtown comedy genius and fierce feminist Amanda Duarte (Dead Darlings - Time Out New York’s pick of the week too many weeks to count). 2018 brings us a new roster of Broadway’s biggest singing stars, as always accompanied by the A is For band, led by musical director Dan Lipton.
